Skatepark Staff Wanted

We are looking for people to join our skate team! This will involve both staffing the skatepark during opening hours and teaching skateboarding lessons.

Role 1: Sessional Leader In Charge
Hours
- Sundays 10am – Close (Usually 6:30/7pm)
Job Roles and duties include –
- General staffing of the park, including signing in attendees and supervising sessions
- Working in structured lessons coaching groups of skaters
- Teaching and assisting users of the park where necessary or called upon
- Supporting though encouragement, conversation and acting as a role model to park users
- Sharing responsibility of the safety and wellbeing of park users

Acting as the key contact for parents, partners, and external agencies during working hours

Supporting planning ideas and reporting for Project Lead

Conducting risk assessments and measuring impact

Completion of health and safety checks before sessions and of debriefs and cash sign off afterwards

Supervising other support workers, volunteers, or sessional staff

- Pay rate – £13.40-14.28 p/h

Role 2: Sessional Worker
Hours
We’re looking for someone who can cover any or all of the following hours each week. Please indicate these on the application form.
- Mondays 6 – 10pm
- Wednesdays 4 – 9:30pm
- Saturdays 8:45am – 2pm
- Saturdays 2pm – 6:30pm
- Sundays 10am – Close (Usually 6:30/7pm)

Person Specification

We are looking for someone who:
- Has a strong interest in working with young people.
- Has experience working as a lead in a group setting
- Has a basic ability in skateboarding.
- Has an overall basic knowledge of skating, including tricks, culture and apparatus.
- Is confident in talking to, working with and teaching people of all ages, especially children and teenagers.
- Has good communication skills.
- Understands professional boundaries when it comes to working with people attending the skatepark.
Previous experience in any relatable fields is strongly desirable.
