Sessional Skatepark Staff Wanted
We are looking for people to join our skate team! This will involve both staffing the skatepark during opening hours and teaching skateboarding lessons. We’re also looking for a female or marginalised gender team member to staff our weekly Thursday night sessions.
Hours
We’re looking for people who is flexible to work some of our sessions on a weekly basis. These run at roughly –
- 4pm – 9/10pm on weekdays
- 10am – 6pm on weekends
- All day during school holidays
- Thursday session is currently 6:30-9pm
We will discuss with you and offer sessions based on our needs and your availability. Hours may vary. Please tell us about your availability in the relevant section on your application form.

- Location – Hove Engineerium until September / October, Edward Street from then onwards
- Start date – immediate
- Pay rate – £12.60 p/h
- Successful applicants will need to be DBS checked. We will arrange this ourselves on your behalf.
Job Roles and duties include –
- General staffing of the park, including signing in attendees and supervising sessions.
- Teaching and assisting users of the park where necessary or called upon.
- Supporting though encouragement, conversation and acting as a role model to park users.
- Sharing responsibility of the safety and wellbeing of park users.
- Working in structured lessons coaching groups of skaters, alongside another member of staff.
We are looking for someone who –
- Has a strong interest in working with young people.
- Has a basic ability in skateboarding.
- Has an overall basic knowledge of skating, including tricks, culture and apparatus.
- Is confident in talking to, working with and teaching people of all ages, especially children and teenagers.
- Has good communication skills.
- Understands professional boundaries when it comes to working with people attending the skatepark.
- Has regular availability to cover the times above on at least some days of the week.
Previous experience in any relatable fields is desirable.
