Grind Designs 2019
7th July 2019

5th November 2019

Hi Paul, I have a slightly different request for you! I run a skatepark in the UK and I’m hoping you could help provide some young skaters with some inspiration and instructions on how to vote in the next election. We’ll stick your video on our social media and hopefully it’ll reach a lot of people round here!

Here are the important bits they need to know –

There’s going to be a general election on December the 12th. With everything that’s going on in the UK this is going to be one of the most important votes for a long time.

If you’re going to be 18 or over on the day of the election you can register to vote at www.gov.uk. It takes less than 5 minutes.

If you’ve moved since the last time you registered, you’ll need to do it again with your new address.

Students can use either their home address or university address to register, so work out where you’re going to be on the 12th of December and use that address.

Most importantly, you have to get it done by Monday November 25th, otherwise you won’t be able to vote.

For decades young people in the UK have had the lowest voter turnout of all age groups, which means young voters’ views have been largely ignored by the governments. But the numbers are starting to improve, and if you want to get your voices heard then get out there en masse on December 12th.

We’d be real grateful if you’re up for it. Thanks a lot -from Liam @ BYC Skatepark, Brighton, UK
