Work and Volunteering Opportunities

Brighton Youth Centre is a large, busy voluntary sector Youth Project in the City Centre. Our programme includes open Youth Work, Brighton’s only indoor skatepark and B.fest, Brighton’s  annual youth arts festival. As a Charity we own our own building which is well used by ourselves and many partner organisations. 

 

B.fest 25 Job Roles 
B.fest Coordinator 
Supporting the B.fest Director and BYC team to deliver B.fest 25. This includes supporting the administration, logistics, and production of the festival. B.fest includes music, theatre, dance, digital art, and visual arts, offering performances, exhibitions and workshops to communities and audiences across the city and online. You will liaise with new and existing partners and Young People and enable them to deliver their creative events. Through coordinating B.fest you will provide the best possible Youth Work Programme including planning, delivery, funding, safeguarding. Reporting and agreeing delivery plans with the B.fest Director. More information can be found in the job description below.

B.fest Events Team Staff
To be part of a dynamic and adaptable Events Team that support Young People, Events Managers and Youth Work team, to deliver successful, fun, creative, engaging and safe events for BYC.
To support the BYC team in inspiring young people to learn about themselves and others and build great lives by providing a dynamic Youth Centre that listens to Young People from across the city and works with them to provide space, training, activities, support, and services that are relevant and accessible and enable creativity, learning, fun, friendship and relaxation. BYC Needs Volunteers
We are excited to be opening our new building at the end of October 2025 and have lots of Volunteer roles for people over 21 years, that need filling to make this dynamic youth space, open as much as possible.

Volunteer Youth Workers

BYC is looking for confident and motivated people, whom have some experience of working with young people to take on our Volunteer Youth Work roles, to help us deliver our programme. The BYC Programme includes, Open Youth Club Sessions, Sports, B.Game, Gigs, Club Nights, Art Markets, Workshops, Events, Music sessions, and much more.

B.fest Events Team Volunteers

B.fest is the Brighton Annual Youth Arts Festival that runs in Oct half term (25th Oct –  1st Nov) and requires Events support and production, receptionists, invigilators, live sound, artists and curators.

Office and building Volunteers

BYC also will need office support, social media, marketing, funding, admin, receptionist and building volunteers so if you want to help with these areas, we welcome applications from you.
Applicants will need to be able to complete a training programme that will run for 5 weeks on a Tuesday evening starting on Tues 9th Sept at BYC. At the end of this training we will have group and individual interviews to discuss suitable roles and options for you at BYC.
