I run a skatepark in the UK and I\u2019m hoping you could help provide some young skaters with some inspiration and instructions on how to vote in the next election. We\u2019ll stick your video on our social media and hopefully it\u2019ll reach a lot of people round here!<\/p>\n
Here are the important bits they need to know \u2013<\/p>\n
There\u2019s going to be a general election on December the 12th. With everything that\u2019s going on in the UK this is going to be one of the most important votes for a long time.<\/em><\/p>\n If you\u2019re going to be 18 or over on the day of the election you can register to vote at www.gov.uk. It takes less than 5 minutes.<\/em><\/p>\n If you\u2019ve moved since the last time you registered, you\u2019ll need to do it again with your new address.<\/em><\/p>\n Students can use either their home address or university address to register, so work out where you\u2019re going to be on the 12th of December and use that address.<\/em> For decades young people in the UK have had the lowest voter turnout of all age groups, which means young voters\u2019 views have been largely ignored by the governments. But the numbers are starting to improve, and if you want to get your voices heard then get out there en masse on December 12th.<\/em><\/p>\n We’d be real grateful if you’re up for it.
